A Pocket alternative, if what you save is mostly video

Pocket was a reading list. Inboxy is built for what people save now - Reels, TikToks, YouTube videos - and it keeps articles too. Here is where that fits you, and where it does not.

Last checked: September 30, 2026

Mozilla shut Pocket down on July 8, 2025. The export window has closed and user data has been queued for deletion.

Who this page is for

You used Pocket to keep things for later, and since it closed your “later” pile has moved into Instagram Saved, TikTok Favorites and a row of open tabs.

If most of what you save today is short video, Inboxy is a close fit: it turns each video into a note you can search and question. If you want a quiet place to read long articles and highlight them, it is not that kind of tool, and the section below says so plainly.

Where Pocket was better

Pocket is gone, but what it did well is still worth naming: it tells you what to look for in a replacement.

  • Reading was the point

Pocket was a read-it-later app: you saved an article to read it, in full, later. Inboxy writes a note about what you saved and links back to the source. It is not a reading app.

  • Highlights and notes

Pocket kept your highlights and notes on saved articles. Inboxy has no highlighting.

  • It was everywhere

Web, iOS, Android and macOS apps, plus browser extensions. Inboxy is an iOS app and a Telegram bot. Android is in development, and there is no browser extension or web app.

Where Inboxy is different

None of this is a Pocket feature done over. It is a different job.

  • It reads the video

Share a Reel, a TikTok or a YouTube link. Inboxy transcribes the speech, and when there is no usable speech - music only, captions only - it reads the text shown in the frames instead.

  • Every save becomes a note

A one-line essence, key points and action items, filed under a category and tags without you doing it.

  • You can ask it

Ask in plain words and get an answer built from your own saves, with the saves it came from cited.

  • One-tap fact-check

Any saved post can be checked claim by claim against live web sources. It is AI working from search results: a sourced second opinion, not a ruling.

  • Capture through Telegram

Forward a link, a post or a voice message to @InboxyAIBot. There is no app to open and nothing to install.

  • It comes back to you

Digests, reminders, a daily “remember this?” review card and a to-do list built from the action items in your saves.

  • English, Ukrainian, Russian

The interface and the notes are in your language, whatever language the video speaks. Any summary translates in a tap.

Moving your Pocket saves

Pocket’s export was a CSV file of your saved links, sent to you by email. It held the URLs, not the text of the articles. Mozilla first announced that export would stay open until October 8, 2025; its help page now records that export was disabled on November 12, 2025, with all user data queued for permanent deletion.

So this only applies if you asked for that file in time. If you did: Inboxy has no importer for it. We would rather say so than promise a button that does not exist.

What does work is sending links. Open the CSV, pick the ones you still care about and paste them into a chat with the Telegram bot - several links in one message is fine - or share them to the iOS app. Each link is fetched and summarized as a new save, and each counts toward your monthly saves (50 on Free). For a list of thousands that is not a migration. For the articles you actually meant to come back to, it is.

A link that no longer resolves will fail. Nothing can be recovered from a page that is gone.

Questions

Is Pocket still available?

No. Mozilla shut Pocket down on July 8, 2025. The apps and browser extensions no longer work, and Mozilla’s help page says export was disabled on November 12, 2025.

Can I import my Pocket export into Inboxy?

Not with an importer - there is none today. You can paste the links from your export into the Telegram bot or share them to the iOS app, and each one becomes a new save.

Is Inboxy a read-it-later app like Pocket?

Not quite. It saves articles and links, but instead of a reading view it gives you a note: the essence, key points and action items, with a link back to the source. It is built first for video - Reels, TikToks and YouTube.

Is Inboxy free?

There is a Free plan with monthly limits: 50 saves, 15 questions to your library, 5 fact-checks and 10 translations. Pro removes those limits for $6.99 a month or $39.99 a year in the iOS app (the yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial), or with Telegram Stars in the bot.

Try it on the next thing you save.

Send one link to the Telegram bot or share it to the iOS app. Free to start, no card.
